Private Studio Music Instructor
In 1982 RGRhoades began his career as a full-time private studio instructor. Initially, he commuted between an East Shore studio at University Music Service (then located in downtown Hummelstown, PA) and a West Shore studio in the basement of Wray Music in Lemoyne, PA. Over the years, alternate teaching locations have included Steve's Keyboards (Harrisburg, PA) and the short-lived Bandstand (Camp Hill, PA). Finally, in January of 1989, he constructed a 225 sq ft studio at his Mechanicsburg residence, where he continues to teach guitar (classic, acoustic and electric), electric bass, and 5-string "Scrugg's style" banjo.

Signature Music Services
In the early 80's RGRhoades was introduced to MIDI, a technology that uses computers for recording, editing and performing music. He quickly became involved in learning as much as possible about MIDI, and began to harness its power for producing background accompaniment tracks for his solo and small combo performances. Over the years, RGRhoades has developed an entire line of technology-based music services offered through his company, Signature Music Services®. These include:

Performer
As with many music educators, RGRhoades actively seeks opportunities to play music, too. His performance experience ranges from solo classic guitarist to electric guitar gigs with the Harrisburg Symphony "Pops" Orchestra, backing up such well-know talent as Rita Moreno and The Lettermen.

Composer
